Track Your Website Visits with Google Analytics

Track Your Website Visits with Google Analytics

What it's for

Google Analytics measures your site's traffic: how many people visit it, which pages they look at, where they come from (Google, social media, word of mouth...). It is very useful for understanding what works.

Important: cookies

Unlike search ranking, Google Analytics places cookies on your site. The law therefore requires asking the visitor's consent. Flopix handles this for you: as soon as you enable Analytics, a consent banner appears on your site, and Analytics only loads after acceptance. A note is also added to your legal notice.

The steps

  • Create an account on Google Analytics and a "property" for your site (GA4 version).
  • Copy your measurement ID: it looks like G-XXXXXXXX.
  • Paste it into Flopix, on the "Visit statistics" card of your integrations.

Do you really need Analytics?

No. If you mainly want to know how you rank on Google, Search Console (no cookie) is often enough. Analytics is useful if you want to analyse visitor behaviour in detail.
