Complete Guide: Create Your Website Step by Step with Flopix
Published on Aug 2, 2026
A guide for every step
This guide walks through, one by one, all the steps of the form used to create your site. You can click the light-bulb icon next to any question in the form to land directly here, on the step that concerns you.Step 1: Your site name
This is simply the name that will appear at the top of your page (for example the name of your shop, your business or your own name). Choose a clear, short name: it is what your visitors see first, and it is also the name used to automatically generate your site address in the next step.
Step 2: Your logo
If you have a logo (as an image file), you can add it simply by clicking "Yes", which opens the file picker on your computer or phone directly. If you do not have one yet, click "No": we then offer a small selection of ready-made logos (a letter with a colour gradient), which you can pick in one click, with nothing to create yourself.Step 3: Your page theme
The theme sets the overall colours of your site. The light theme (white background) suits the vast majority of businesses and is selected by default. The dark theme gives a darker, more elegant look. The custom theme lets you choose the colours of the banner, the background and the accents (reviews, icons) yourself, if you want a result that matches your brand exactly.
Step 4: Your photos
Photos let your visitors discover your business at a glance: your shop, your dishes, your work... You can add up to 8 photos, each with an optional caption. A new slot appears automatically after each photo added, up to the 8th. This step is entirely optional: you can perfectly well launch your site with no photos and add some later from your dashboard.Step 5: Present your business
A free-text field to tell the story of your business, your history or your values, displayed below your photos. Two buttons above the text field let you easily insert a bulleted list (to list your services, for example) or a table (ideal for showing a menu or a price grid): just click, and a ready-to-fill template is inserted automatically where the cursor is.Step 6: A call-to-action button
If you want to prompt your visitors to take action (book a table, view your menu, make an appointment...), you can add a custom button below your description text. Enter the button text (e.g. "Book"), the link it should point to, and customise its colours so it matches the rest of your page.Step 7: Your Google reviews
If your business has a Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business), you can add a button inviting your satisfied customers to leave a review directly from your site. It is one of the things that reassure a visitor who does not know you yet the most.Don't have a Google Business Profile yet?
A Google Business Profile is free. It is what makes your business appear on Google Maps and in local search results, with your opening hours, your address and your reviews. Creating it takes about fifteen minutes, and Google then sends you a verification code, by mail or by phone, to confirm the business is really yours.Video coming soon: how to create your Google Business Profile.
Go to google.com/business, sign in with a Google account, then follow the steps: business name, category, address, service area, phone and opening hours. Once the profile is verified, come back here to get your review link.
Where to find your review link?
The review link is a short address, of the form https://g.page/r/... , that opens the window for leaving a rating directly. It is not the address of your profile: it is a specific link, meant to be shared.Video coming soon: how to get your Google review link.
To get it: sign in to your Google account, search for your business name in Google, then in the management panel that appears, click "Ask for reviews" (or "Get more reviews" depending on the display). Google then shows you the link to copy. Paste it into the Flopix form field, and the review button will appear automatically on your site.
Step 8: Delivery and takeaway
If you offer delivery or takeaway, click the platforms you use (Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat) to add the link to your profile on each of them directly. You can also indicate a home-delivery area if you deliver to your customers yourself.Step 9: Your social media
Click each social network you are on (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, X) to add the link to your profile. These icons will be shown on your site so your visitors can follow you easily.Step 10: Your opening hours
You can set precise hours (with, for each day, a closed status, open with morning/afternoon slots, or open 24/7), indicate that you are open continuously all week, or flag an exceptional closure with a custom message (for an annual closure, for example).
Step 11: Your contact details
This information (address, email, phone) is used to display a Google Maps map as well as your contact details on your site, so visitors can easily locate and reach you. This step is optional, but strongly recommended if you have a physical location or want to be contacted directly.
What about the legal notice?
The legal notice is not part of this creation form: it is completed afterwards, once your site is created and payment is made, directly from the "Information" page of your site in your dashboard. It is a legal obligation, not an option. In France, any publicly accessible website must clearly identify its publisher. This is required by the law on confidence in the digital economy (LCEN) and, as soon as you collect any personal data (a form, a contact email address), by the GDPR and data protection recommendations.
What you risk without a legal notice
- Financial penalties: up to €75,000 for an individual and €375,000 for a company under the LCEN, and up to 4% of worldwide annual turnover under the GDPR.
- An inspection or formal notice from the data protection authority, which can be made public.
- An immediate loss of credibility: a visitor who finds no identity, no address and no way to make contact grows wary, and often leaves without contacting you.
- The inability to assert your rights calmly in the event of a dispute with a customer or a competitor.
What you must provide
- Purpose of the page: professional, personal or non-profit. This choice determines the information expected next.
- Owner: a legal entity (company, association) or an individual (private person, freelancer).
- Full identity: name or company name, legal form, and for a company the share capital, the company registration number and the trade register entry.
- Contact details: address of the registered office or home, email and phone that actually reach you.
- For an association: prefecture declaration number, prefecture town and the representative's role.
Fill in this information accurately. An approximate address, a number that does not answer or an incomplete identity expose you just as much as having no legal notice at all. Take the time to check them: it is five minutes, once and for all.
Received a site created by someone else? The legal notice must be yours, not that of the person who created the site. As soon as the site belongs to you, check and correct it: as the publisher, you are the one responsible.
Flopix provides the form and reminds you to complete it, but cannot fill in this information for you or verify its accuracy: it belongs to you alone.
